Introduced at the 2009 American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Convention and Exhibit in Grapevine, TX, the Health Information Bill of Rights is AHIMA's latest attempt to educate and engage patients. The provisions place greater responsibility and accountability on HIM departments, which are already facing added pressure under new legislation.

We spoke with AHIMA CEO Linda Kloss, RHIA, CAE, FAHIMA; Past-President Wendy Mangin, MS, RHIA; and Director of Practice Leadership Harry Rhodes, MBA, RHIA, CPHS, FAHIMA, about new demands and what they mean for HIM professionals. Watch what they had to say in our video below.
