One Computer Program for All

View Comments (0)Print ArticleEmail Article

I think it would be wonderful if there was only one standardized computer program for all hospitals, services, etc. It would enable MTs to learn just one program instead of a different one for each and every facility. If a hospital or service needed additional help due to an overload, an MT could just go in, sit down, log in and begin transcribing. Most of the time now is spent learning a new computer program for each and every provider.

I understand the software people would not go for this idea, as they wouldn't be able to peddle their software as the "best," but just think how much easier our job would be if this were possible!

I know I'm dreaming. I've been told many times that this will never work because it's too logical.
