Cyndi Thomas' "An Ode to Madame Librarian" (Print, February 2009) transported me back to my employment as a "Page" at our local library during high school. I, too, "read the shelves" to make sure that fiction and nonfiction were in proper order. I was also responsible for repairing books, assisting library patrons, and on Saturday mornings scrubbing all laminate countertops until they gleamed. I loved the job!

And, if you can stand it, I have a story about an overdue library book. I was in the hospital being prepared for a C-Section because I was 2 weeks past my scheduled delivery date; so, I called my local librarian to let her know I would not be able to drop off my overdue library book. Of course I told her the reason, and her next column in our village newspaper included my story about being overdue with my son as well as a library book.

Thank you for publishing a newsmagazine that informs and entertains!
