It's easy to start taking green steps. First, pack a lunch to take to work in an eco-friendly, reusable bag. Not only are you saving money each week, but food packaging waste that pollutes the environment is eliminated. Also, evaluate lighting systems in your department and, if possible, consider replacing conventional bulbs with more energy efficient ones. For example, light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs have a life span of 60,000 hours and don't contain toxic mercury found in fluorescent bulbs.
To continue sprouting green ideas, we've gathered a number of green product examples and placed them in this "Green Photo Gallery" to share with you. Special thanks to the Philadelphia Home Show and the Big Green Earth Store in Philadelphia for help in gathering the earth-friendly concepts we are featuring. Photos by Scott Hatfield
